Health Information Management is the processing of patient’s electronic health records. This program prepares the student for a variety of job opportunities including medical coder, department manager/supervisor, data analyst, and clerks who process records verifying accuracy and completeness. It blends knowledge and skills from health information and business management, with computer applications and medicine to provide the necessary foundation for success. The student will be eligible to sit for the RHIT certification upon successful completion of the program.
Students can complete the Health Information Management program in as little as 21 months and will come away with the opportunity to fulfill two certificates. This online class provides support through online computer classes and peer support.
Please note: Tuition and fees for this program are covered through OCSEA’s Free College program. However, industry-required materials are not covered under the Free College program. Students wanting to enroll in this program should expect to pay approximately $1,000 total for the course materials for the entire program. Students will responsible for the cost of the materials on a per-course basis. There may be assistance available for students in need.
